This is where I spoilt myself with a night in one of the huts, to recover from the 18 hour battle with the muddy piste.
I changed the seal as soon as I could, as grease was leaking onto the brake disk and causing one side to brake harder than the other. The job was made all the more fun with a dose of tropical rain half way through.
After reaching Ebolowa it was a 100 miles of piste to Kribi. Most of which was in good condition, with only a couple of muddy patches.
I was reward with a nice sunset to end a long day of driving.
Now this is what you call nice beach, golden sand lapped by warm blue waters.
I was camping further back from the sea and enjoyed many an hour lounging in front of the hotel. They also have a great restaurant here, which even guests from other nearby hotels come to enjoy.
About a 40 minute walk down the beach south is this set of falls, well large rapids really. But they are apparently the only ones to drop straight into the sea.
All the way to Lalara there was good road, a big difference from the last border crossing into Cameroon.
On the way to Libreville the road crosses the equator twice. This was the first time I had crossed the equator by land, and here is the GPS to prove it.
