Congo's And Angola

Biatrice, Michel & Landy

This was a nice French couple that I met in Point Noire, Congo. They had recently bought a new Defender 130 and were planning to drive overland back to France.

Oil Processing Facility, Congo

This was the view from the plane as we flew over some of the sites that Michel managed.

APC On Way To Boma, DRC

A reminder of the fighting that has taken place in the Democratic Republic Of Congo

The Congo River, Matadi

The might Congo River, which serves as a main shipping route to Matadi Brazzaville and Kinshasa.

Landy On Piste From Border, Angola

So the bad pistes and roads start. Angola had the worst roads I came across country wide.

Home Made Bridge, North Angola

This was something the locals had knocked up. None of which was bolted together and moved as you went across.

Blown Up Bridge, North Angola

At one point there had been good bridges over all of the major rivers, but most had been blown up in the war.

Countryside On Way To Waku-Kungo

Along the main route through Angola the views were really great. Shame about the mines!

Holy Road, Angola

More holes than road, which made it slow going.
