This is the lodge that is own by Sabina and Bernard a German couple who set off overland to reach South Africa, but got side tracked along the way.
You can just see the Wli Falls at the centre of the picture far in the distance. Behind the mountains is the border with Togo.
The path cross’s the river from the falls 9 times using small footbridges. We spotted quite a bit of insect life along the way, including butterflies, centipedes and spiders.
Just the lower falls drop must be in the region of 50-60m high, and there is an upper second that you can’t see in this picture that looks to be a similar size.
I couldn’t resist the chance to go swimming, and even went up under the falling water. Through it wasn’t very relaxing as it felt like a high-pressure hose.
This was the piste from Badou to Adete in Togo. It got a lot tighter than this and we wondered at times if we would get through.
There were some great views of the surrounding mountains as we drove along the piste. You can see the low cloud clinging to the rainforest canopy.
Far in the background you can see what I think to be Ghana between the mountains.
This was the nice place I found to stay along the coast road east of Lome.
This was the nicest thing about Aneho for me. As the colonial buildings and the town as general were really uncared for, and so I found it hard to see any charm in the place.
Most of the damage to the castle was cause during a massive storm, which flooded the whole town.
Enjoying the last chance of a few days relaxing before returning to Europe and a new job.
