Gib and Morocco

View Of Gib From Spain

Our first real view of Gib from Spain as we approached the traffic jam pn the border.

Landy, David And The Rock

Posing for the standard shot to prove you have been to Gibraltar.

First Sight Of Africa

Looking south from Gib you could see Africa just across the water.

The Road From Ceuta To Chefchaouen

This was the stunning view from the road on the way to Chefchaouen in the Riff Mountains.

The Streets of Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen was full of little twisting and narrow streets lined with all types of shops.

The Main Square In Chefchaouen

The colourful square of Chefchaouen. Showing the blue builds which the town is known for.

Washing Clothes On The Chefchaouen River

They had built wash houses on the rivr side which had flowing water diverted to them for washing clothes.

Volubilis Roman Ruins

One of many of the Mosaics in the Volubilis Roman Ruins. This site is the best Roman site in all of Morocco, and has large parts of the buildings still standing.

An Arch de Triumph built in honour of one the Empires who gave the town Roman citizenship and tax rites.

A large part of the main Temple in the Town is still standing.

Menknes Street Market

This was a real interesting market, and had stalls selling every thing you can imagine. The place was full and it was quite easy to loose your bearings in all the narrow cluttered allys.

Carpet Shop

No, I didn't buy a carpet. Even though the carpet salesman tried every trick in the book. They really go for the hi pressure sales tactics.

Fes Tannery

The three stage process of the Fes Tannery.

The View From Fes Tannery

My Guide For Fez

This was my guide who took me for a afternoon tour of old Fez. I really did know his stuff. I didn't pay him with money but trade a pair of sun glasses and an old T-shirt for his services.

My First Piste

This was the first real piste I had taken the Landy on. It started tame but end in some quite hardcore off road.

The View From The Piste

Long Road To No Where

This was the road down south going towards the Gorges Du Ziz. You can see the high Atlas Mountains in the far distance.

The Start Of the Gorges Du Ziz

Oasis In Gorges Du Ziz

This type of Oasis ran along a lot of the area along side the river in the bottom of the gorge.

The Hotel On The Edge Of The Erg Chebbi

This looks like it could be straight out of a film.

The Dunes Of The Erg Chebbi

These dunes have been the back drop for many films set in the Sahara. They are about 30Km Long by 15Km wide.

Sunset From The Erg Chebbi

Me On The Dunes At Erg Chebbi

It was a real hard walk up to the top of one of the dunes, as the sand is so soft. But well worth the view from the top.

Berber Camp

This was the Berber Camp that I stayed the night at on the East side of the Erg Chebbi.

The Todra Gorge

The Famous Todra Gorge, one of the deepest in the world.

The Piste From Todra Gorge To The Dades Gorge

This turned out to be a real hardcore piste and it took me along time to crawl my way to the other end. The views along the way were stunning and well worth the rough ride.
