Le Mans 2004

The Landy in our campsite

As we had arrived quite late on the Friday night, we had to make camp in an extension field of the Carte de Nord campsite.

Bug Massacre

The death toll on the local insect life had been particularly high the night before on the drive from St. Malo to Le Mans.

The Bentley Team Race Car

Ow and by the way this is my other car... I wish!

Beer Bottle Mountain

His was one of the favourite uses for all the empty beer bottles in the British camps around the circuit. The competition to have the biggest mountain was fierce. These guys we later found out had cheated and had used silicon sealant to keep it all together.

Watching Dinner Cook

We looked quite basic with our cooking set up compared to some of the other seasoned Le Mans goers. Some had brought every mod con. For them it was not so much camping as living in a temporary house.

During The Race

These pictures were taken during the race at diffferent points around the circuit.

The Group In Camp

After a long day walking round the race track and watching the cars from different points, we all chilled out after dinner.

Who's watching who?

Pit Straight Invasion

As soon as the race was finished most of the people from the main stand invaded the start/finish straight. This gave us a great view of the trophy presentation and a closer look at some of the cars.

Helping With Filming For Game Pad

As we were leaving the Le Mans site on the Monday, we were stopped and asked to help out with some filming. As it turned out these two were doing filming for a computer game show called Game Pad. We are not even sure if they used the shots they took, but it was fun to do.

Landy Overtakes Jet Fighter!

It's strange what you sometimes see on French motorways.
